Throughout history, poets have used sunflowers as a beautiful depiction of the sun. You can keep one in your pocket, or wear it in your hair, it always enhances a person’s beauty. But whenever I look at sunflowers, no matter how pretty they seem, I always remember the Helen Keller quote, “Keep your face to the sunshine, and you cannot see the shadow. It’s what sunflowers do.” So no matter how beautiful a person seems, one should always look past the beauty and see if they are beautiful on the inside. Sadly, not many are. They seem nice, but all they’re trying to do is divert attention from their dark shadows.
However, I love spending my summer afternoons surrounded by nature (plants, flowers and landscapes). This sunflower stands as tall as the summer sun
